Canada OAS Payments Arrive Earlier Than Usual

Canada's current senior pension payment was scheduled for September 25, 2026, earlier than the usual end-of-month timing for this monthly federal benefit.
Eligible Canadians age 65 to 74 could receive as much as $751, while those 75 and older could receive up to $827.
At 65+, people in Canada need citizenship or legal residency and 10 yr of residence; outside Canada, qualifying generally required 20 yr.
Many recipients are automatically enrolled. A letter arrives close to age 64; if none appears a month later, an application may be needed.
Payments arrive by direct deposit or cheque. Newly enrolled recipients get their first payment the month after turning 65, or on a chosen date.
